Zoonotic Disease Educational Toolkit

The goals of the toolkits are to improve participant awareness and knowledge of zoonotic diseases, motivate participants to adopt behavior that can help prevent zoonotic disease transmission, increase participant awareness and knowledge of careers in public and animal health and facilitate a better understanding among participants of the role public and animal health play in disease prevention. The kits include the supplies necessary to teach each of the three lessons contained in the toolkit. The created curriculum and supplies have been distributed directly to Michigan 4-H beef, sheep, swine and poultry volunteers and Michigan FFA advisors for use throughout the year.  Within the kit, there is also an evaluation form with a self-addressed and pre-stamped envelope for the leader to complete and return post lesson. The curricula units includes a Skill Level to help determine the appropriate age group for each lesson.
